food is no good

May 1st, 2006

If you've ever dieted, have you noticed that during the diet you crave the evil foods (junk food, candy etc) a lot more than otherwise? I keep trying to keep myself on a diet of salads, which I keep failing at, but when I'm not dieting I eat mostly regular food, without a lot of indulgences. Then when I go on a diet, I suddenly feel a much stronger urge to pig out. :lazy:

I've never dieted and as much as I like food, the only time I've ever had really strong urges for 'bad' food is when I'm in a really really depressed mood.
Otherwise I can't really be bothered making the effort. I don't snack and there are some days when I'll miss whole meals. On the other hand, I eat fast food all the time, and I don't feel bad about it.

Depression sends me flying in the direction of MacDonald's and 'the Chocolate Bar'

    BTW, I got this quote:
"Ask her to wait a moment I am almost done."
~Carl Friedrich Gauss (1777-1855), while working, when informed that his wife is dying~

    Bit morbid... :D

[1] I never dieted in my life until 2006 (and I probably never would), but at one point I decided I should lose the excess weight (and I've come roughly half way and stagnated :lazy: )

[2] I went to MacDonalds last night, first time in like a month. The supermarkets are closed on Sunday and the only open food outlet is a biological food store that overcharges like a mofo. :lazy:

Bloody brilliant quote :D From the man who brought us Guassian elimination (solving sets of equations) and the Guassian Blur filter (in Photoshop). :D Or so I presume, from the names. Back in my IB days I also knew something more about his work in statistics, but that's long gone.

Lol, that's why most people actually don't manage to diet at all, for example me...when I diet, I think of food all day long :S So I have abolished diets out of my life many time ago. I don't do diets, I just eat normal, and if I feel like that I need to loose some weight, I just move more. But if I may ask you...why are you on a diet? I hope it's not because you want to loose weight or something... :S

[4] I mean...I read that you wanted to loose a bit of weight, but I really don't understand why...

Well, it's really quite simple, I want to lose weight because I need to lose some weight. I'm 78kg, 5 years ago I was around 73kg which was a little above par, but fine because I was quite active physically (ie. the surplus was muscle mass). And now I'm just heavy without playing sports.
